This morning I began preparing for Thanksgiving. It will be celebrated at home with Alex. Just us two. That's OK; there are few humans that would make better companions than Alex.
Thanks to a friend who wishes to remain anonymous I received the basic elements of my Thanksgiving dinner in this box.

Inside, frozen very, very hard, was a boneless turkey breast, garlic mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and mashed sweet potatoes. My mouth is watering just thinking about this feast!

Then, thanks to a financial gift from a Louisville United Church of Christ congregation, I went grocery shopping for items to round out Thanksgiving dinner:

Of course, I don't plan to eat the cat food. That's for Alex, who was excited when I returned home from shopping but did not offer to help bring the grocery bags from the car to the house.

I was also able to afford refills of two prescriptions, one for my diabetes and the other for my congestive heart failure. Had it not been for the gracious blessings, I'd have had to wait until December 1st, when my pension check is deposited.
I thank my friend who wishes to remain anonymous and the congregation for thinking of me and sharing.
