I'm in what seems to be the worst stages of sleep apnea: awakening in less than a couple of minutes of falling asleep and falling asleep frequently; constant headache; dehydration.
I had to take some papers about a job application to a county office off Dixie Highway this morning, about 20 miles from my home. I kept falling asleep as I drove. So, after I dropped off the papers, I reclined the driver's seat in the car and slept as best I could for about 90 minutes. That still didn't help and I was falling asleep all the way back to my house. I think God must have been my co-pilot or I would not have made that trip without an accident.
About 3:00 a.m. this morning I tried to sleep by talking a warm bath. While sitting on the side of the bathtub, with my feet inside it, awaiting it to fill with water, I fell asleep and backwards off the tub onto the floor, hitting my head. It was problematical getting to my feet—even finding the energy to get up was demanding.
UPS is supposed to deliver my new CPAP tomorrow. I purchased one I could afford—a miniature system, the cheapest they make. I hope it works for me and I am able to get a full night's sleep and rest.
Oh Nick, be careful. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Put that thing on and go to sleep as soon as you get it! Sending lullabye's your way!
ReplyDeleteThanks, sonson! I plan to follow your advice to the notes of the lullayes.
