This afternoon, as Moderator of the Association, I chaired the meeting of the Kentuckiana Association of the United Church of Christ. The meeting went well. In planning it I remembered and used that old rule I learned many years ago as an army officer: KISS—Keep It Simple, Stupid.
The high point of the meeting was, for me. when I was called upon to commission Rachel, the daughter of an old friend and seminary colleague, as a Young Ambassador. Over the next two summers she will be part of an Association group that will visit our sister churches in Germany and host young people from Germany when they visit the Indiana-Kentucky Conference.

I have known Rachael since her birth and I was honored to affirm her as a Young Ambassador:

ReplyDeleteHow you doing nick? Congrats on your new job. Hope you really enjoy it.
Was reading through your recent posts. The one where you revealed the personal pain your first wife had to go through---Was really powerful and touching.
My hugs to Alex(provided he doesn't give me a virtual scratch).
In spite of all you've gone through, you continue to find the good and promote it! I'm not far behind you in age, but I hope I can be as optimistic as you are - realistic, too, of course, but you're just one cool dude.
ReplyDeletebtw, 60 is the new 40 :)
