When the Master Naps, the Servant Should Not Disturb Him

As numerous people can—and will—affirm, I am not the most meticulous of housekeepers. Matter of fact, I could play an excellent Oscar in The Odd Couple. Remember? (Guest: What’s the green stuff in the refrigerator? Oscar: It’s either very new cheese or very old meat.)

There are, however, times when the housekeeping bug does attack me. This afternoon was one of those. As a form of celebration I decided to put my most expensive linens and comforter on the bed in the master bedroom. I retrieved them from the closet in bedroom #2 and carried them to my bedroom, only to be greeted by this sight on my bed:

Since Alex, the feline whom I serve, had been out all night catting around, my entry into the bedroom at 3:00 p.m. awakened him. However, he did not move; he just eyed me. I made a decision: I returned the bed stuff to the closet and allowed Alex to continue his nap.

  2. Oh WHY oh WHY did you have to post this???

I'm not a fan of cats........but this cat is too damn cute!

I'm blaming you for having me think a cat is cute...

And in that first picture- the cat's eyes are crystal blue!

I'm just severely allergic to cats...not an animal hater or anything...

    Jis' sayin...

  4. Alex looks so innocent! I wonder what he was doing while he catted around all night?

  8. Your stories about Alex crack me up! I agree, though, the servant should not disturb the master, lest the master takes it out on your favorite shoes or something....such a cute master, too :)

  9. You are doing your job of serving Alex quite well. I'm sure he thinks so, too.

  10. LOL, you are owned by a cat. The difference between a dog and a cat. The dog asks, what can I do for you and a cat asks what can you do for me?
Sounds like you are doing a great job of serving Alex.

  12. Its ok, sometimes I have to sneak into my bed among a maze of cat faces to try not to wake them so that I can go to sleep myself.
