A Few Updates

Mom: Thanks for all of your comments, prayers, and counsel. As of this evening, my mother has decided to not have the back surgery; rather she’ll follow the advice of the MD at the pain clinic: rehab and stronger pain meds.

Blogger Switch: Well, I couldn’t switch to the new Blogger. When I tried, I received this message:

While the new version of Blogger is no longer in beta, some users with certain types of blogs will not immediately be able to switch to it. We'll be adding support for these blogs as soon as possible, so everyone can join in the fun. But for now, if you have a very large blog (more than a couple thousand posts + comments), you'll need to hold off for a bit.

Orange Bowl: Louisvillians are celebrating! The University of Louisville Cardinals defeated the Wake Forrest Demon Deacons in the Orange Bowl for their first major-bowl victory in 15 years.

  3. I couldn't switch either. At first, I was upset, but then, I was really proud of the size of my um, blog.

I'm glad your mom is on the mend.

  5. Oh wow, your blog must be really special to need to wait for NEW technology to be created. Hehe.

Glad to hear about your mother though, I hope the rehab and meds help.

  7. Hope your Mom gets better soon and can return home.

If there is a problem with the new blogger, DON'T SWITCH. I would miss your writng too much if something happened and your blog disappeared.

  8. So glad to hear the news on your mother. I hope she does well with her meds and therapy. Surgery always sounds so drastic.

    And, go U of L!

  10. It sounds as if Pat made an excellent decision. I hope it leads to a reduction of her pain.

What’s wrong with the blogger you are using now? As a non-blogger I see nothing wrong with your blog or any of the other blogs I have read.

Of course I watched the game and pulled for UofL. As a Louisville boy, even though I’ve not lived there in 40 years, I wouldn’t have missed it.

I respond to Alex’s greeting; he is a beautiful cat.

Give Debbie a happy birthday from me.

  13. I am so glad your mom is doing better and has decided to try rehab. I worry so much when older folks have to have surgery, there are so many things that can go wrong. By the way, Alex is looking even cuter than usual today (if that's possible).
    Hugs,
    Laurie

  15. Good news about Mom. Back surgery is tough at any age. I don't know her back problems but she might also want to look into some geriatric yoga. Really! I would recommend either Integral Yoga (founder:Satchidananda) or better yet, yoga therapy in the lineage of TKV Desikachar. Sivananda yoga is a possibility if she is feisty enough to tell the instructor which postures she is unwilling to do and if she is in tune with her own body enough to know when she might be overdoing it, before an injury.

    Hi Alex! Happy Birthday Deb.
