Nick, better than the first. Still kind of blocky & sterile. Not sure what look your going for. It would be nice if somehow you could visually separate the two columns (your blog & sometimes saintly nick) Maybe with a different color...very, very light color or a vertical line or boxes or something...not a big deal. Looks good and is readable. Maybe you could get some ideas from the online newspapers or magazines that publish regulary. Also, maybe you need some red in your page somewhere since your name is "saintly nick" and your picture has a santa hat. Just a thought! Have fun designing.
I think you're over-thinking it. I visit because I like to read what you write. Just pick something legible- as long as it's not yellow text on a green background, I'll be happy.
You're braver than me for trying out the new templates! lol I switched to new Blogger but I haven't dared to attempt to customize my template...I kinda like what I can do with the one I have! lol
