Why We Fight

This is a very long video, but well worth the time it takes to view it.

ADDENDUM: This video may be too long for many to play. I wish I could easily summarize its contents, which includes the story of the rise the of the United States to sole "super power," the reality of President Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower's warning regarding the "military-industrial complex" in the United States, the enormous profits that U.S. corporations are making from their link with the military and to making war, and the willingness of our political leaders to flex and use our military muscle to intimidate other nations. One must really watch the film, which is more enlightening than I can express.

Finally, the answer to the question "Why do we fight?" is, from my understanding of the video, because "we can."

  1. Frightening. The failure to learn from history virtually guarantees its repetition.
