Milestones

The seven deadly sins ... Food, clothing, firing, rent, taxes, respectability and children. Nothing can lift those seven milestones from man's neck but money; and the spirit cannot soar until the milestones are lifted. ~ George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)

Milestones (sorta)

  • Yesterday the Pension Boards mailed to me my initial annuity withdrawal; when it is received, Alex and I can return home, I can again drive my car, and I'll feel independent again,

  • There are three envelopes of completed forms to mail to the Social Security Administration on the living table that I'll post as soon as I can get transportation to the Post Office.

  • This is my 652nd blog post to Nick's Bytes.
  • At some point over the past few days the hit counter here at Nick's Bytes went past 50,000.

  • Next month (I don't remember the day) will be Nick's Bytes 2 year blogoversary

Remember:
Tomorrow is Earth Day

  1. That's really great! I think that pretty soon you will be back on your feet and living large as you did before.

    Take care!

  2. Did the finger thing. I'm an index finger...stay away from the ring finger (why?).

They're pretty good milestones, Nick, especially the one about your pension stuff. I didn't realise you and Alex were still separate entities. Hopefully that will change soon.

    Hugs

  3. Good to see that things are going better for you. My blog has been up for a couple of years too! Of course posts have been fewer as of recent. Just stopping by to say hi!

  4. Congratulations on the milestones. That's a quote from Shaw I'd not heard.

  5. Congratulations. Thank God everything has finally worked out for you.

I'm hoping to see much more of your work in the future.

  6. I love that Shaw quote. Money may not equal happiness, but how can one have peace of mind with no means of support?

Congrats on your milestones! And Happy Earth Day. :-)
