A Visit with Alex

Yesterday was a long day with my first visit to the Veterans Administration hospital and obtaining the medications that had run out. It was also the first visit I had with Alex since he began staying at my ex-wife's house.

When we stepped through the door to the house, Alex was hiding beneath the couch. He finally came out and, when I reached down for him, he stretched out and presented me with his tummy to be rubbed.

Alex and I had a good visit--lots of petting and purring and ear scratching and only one claw scratch on my arm. I was reluctant to leave, but it was a tiring day. I did bring a bit of Alex with me: he's shedding more than he ever has before and I left with with white Alex hair covering my shirt.

  2. Alex is shedding his old coat to welcome the spring, I imagine. So good that you got to see him, Nick. I am also glad you were able to refill your medications. It sounds like things are looking up!

  10. Usually shedding and hairballs go hand in hand- maybe it's a good thing he's at someone elses house!

  11. Lovely cat. Cats are a trip. I'm glad you had visiting time with him.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. I appreciate input.

After a time of extended hassles I was able to access my IM messages. Thanks for your invite. I accepted but am not on IM much, usually available at night. I started to join one of your groups but the messages by so many of the other members caused me to be reluctant to add my name to the list. Different strokes for different folks, you know.
