I think it's a boy cat thing. Salty loves boxes, scratching them, and sleeping in them. I think it's just a comfort(mommy) thing. Makes them feel like baby kittens.
That is typical with cats, dogs and little kids. No matter how great the item is that comes out of the box, they all seem to prefer the box. The simple things in life. BTW, I have started a new site. I would be really curious to here what you think about it. www.ComplainComplainComplain.com
Brilliant! Just like children! My mum once spent a fortune on a hand carved rocking horse for me and it was parceled up in a huge box. On Christmas morning I came down stairs, excitedly opened this huge present and spent the rest of the day playing.... in the box! :o) See! You made me smile. If you get a chance pop over to my place where there is a little surprise for you!
I don't know what it is about cats and boxes but you are definitely right, they all seem to have a thing for them. I've had lots of cats both boys and girls and don't think I've ever had one that did just love a good box, or ever a bad box for that matter.

ReplyDeleteYep...that sounds like a cat alright. You can relax, Nick, Alex is normal.
ReplyDeletelike kids - the box is often more fun than the toys
ReplyDeleteSmart cat, when I had my cat she would do the same. I've just posted about my new family addition, his name is 'Jacque'
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love cats? They do the unexpected.

Alex is definitely all cat!
ReplyDeleteCats and kids - can be entertained for days with something as simple as a box.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought maybe your cat had gone missing.
I like your blog Nick so I am adding a link to you in my Bloggers That Rock category - mostly so I remember to keep coming back.
I am sometimes a poor friend because of my short attention span.

ReplyDeleteAh, cats. Alex is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that Alex in the box wasn’t hiding from you. When did you last take him to the vet?
ReplyDeleteyep, he's a cat alright.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Saint Nick. I definitely needed some Alex antics today!
ReplyDeleteNick, the pictures of Alex are just adorable!
ReplyDeleteAll cats love boxes. Get a tiny and I do mean tiny, minimal amount of catnip and rub it on the scratching pole. That'll do the trick.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Little kids do that, too. The box somehow becomes more interesting than the toy. I think it's about creative freedom.
ReplyDeleteDuh! That isn't a box.
ReplyDeleteIt's a ship.
It's a plane.
It's a castle in the sky.
It's anything you care to imagine.
Alex is just being creative.
