Being addicted to blogging and knowing the concern I have for bloggers who are ill or simply not posting, I’m giving you this update.
The whatever I have that is affecting my functioning relates both to my left leg and my breathing. My leg remains swollen, the skin very dry, and now throbs from my hip to the middle of my foot. It hurts a lot when I stand or walk, so I sit. After a few minutes it begins hurting while I am sitting, so I stand. When it hurts badly while sitting or standing, I go to bed and put my leg up on pillows which seems to be the best way of reducing the pain. However, one cannot—at least I can’t—remain in bed all of the time.
My breathing is much more labored than it was. I can’t explain the difference, except when I am walking I find it difficult to breath even with the nose-hose. Also, my nose has been bleeding quite a bit.
I have made an appointment with my primary care VA person for Friday afternoon. I hope I get some answers, but probably I will just get referrals to clinics.
Now Alex and I are going back to bed, where we have been most of the time since Tuesday afternoon.
I thank you for your comments and emails of concern.
I am so sorry to hear you are i'll please if it get's any worse please please go to the ER take care nick! get well soon
ReplyDeleteNick, I am quite familiar with the rigors and requirements of the VA. Take care of yourself and make sure they do what is right for you, not what is right for them!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you. I do so very much hope that you come through this bout of whateveritis soon and completely.
ReplyDeleteRest easy my friend.

We will all be happy to see you back on here when you are feeling better!!
Lots of love your way,
Linda
I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWith the bleeding nose, do you think its caused by those prongs that go inside your nose from the nose hose? Perhaps you can cut them off...my mother's a nurse and she did that for my grandmother because it was irritating.
That was a good suggestion for the nose hose prongs...will that work? Please also pay attention to the first comment about if it gets worse go to the ER...The leg swelling doesn't sound good. Nick, take care. PLEASE keep us posted!!

ReplyDeleteIn winter time, I often find it a little bit harder to breath, but maybe that's just my personal paranoia.
Feel better!
:-)
Gosh, Nick, sorry to hear you are not feeling well this week. I am glad that lying down at least gives you a break from everything, even though it's hard to stay cooped up in bed too long. Alex I am quite sure is happy to have his human lying down with him though!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Nick, my thoughts are with you.
Dear Nick ~~ I am so sorry to hear that your leg has got worse and you are having breathing troubles as well

I think that you need to remain in bed, with Alex caring for you, until you are feeling better.
