The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on War

I agree with Dante that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality. There comes a time when silence is betrayal. ~ The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from the sermon: Why I Am Opposed to the War in Vietnam, Ebenezer Baptist Church, April 30, 1967

I wonder if the the prophetic words of Dr. Wright were any more condemning of the U.S. establishment than those of Dr. King?

Maithri : You are most welcome. Shalom, my friend!

Jesse: Unfortunately, I fear you are right.

i beati : I used to go to the Louisville Zoo several times a year; unfortunately, because of my health and finances, I’ve not been there is about 3 years. It’s a wonderful place.

As for WV playing UK, from what I’ve been reading about UK I think I would bet of WV.

  6. Well, there were many who were indignant and hateful when MLK spoke his message and then we watched it happen again with Wright.

I hope that we haven't heard the last of Wright. Is he just waiting until after the elections to speak out again?

We need all the people we can get to say the things that wake people up!

Thanks for the post and videos, Nick!

  7. Mimi: Thanks for dropping by. I’ve completed the meme and I’ll post it tomorrow.

Carol: You are so right! Speaking prophetic words can be very dangerous! One need only look at Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Amos, and Jesus.

The Rev. Wright is now retired, but I rather doubt that he has been silenced.

You are most welcome, my friend.
