For One, Brief, Shining Moment...

I miss ya, Teddy.

Health Update:

  • I no longer feel as if I'm falling when I stand up
  • I am less wobbly when I walk
  • I am still losing my grip on things and dropping them, but not as often
  • My eyes still have difficulty focusing
  • I'm still sleeping 12 hours plus and still feeling fatigued
  • My "viital signs" are all normal; the glucose reading dropped from 166 to 101 overnight
  • Doc will be coming to my house early (Monday or Tuesday) next week
  • I feel good enough to drive to the drug store to pick up Rx (thankfully no co-pay)

  1. Thanks for the health update. So glad to see a change for the better. I'm wary of strokes since my sister-in-law had one a couple years ago. Re Ted Kennedy: I watched most of his memorial service last night and was very moved.

  2. Thanks for posting those touching messages about Ted Kennedy. His death is a great loss to the world. We are so blessed to have lived in this time where we have had living examples of a family that served so many.

Thank you, also, for your health update. I'm glad that you are feeling a little better - and I'm really glad your doctor will be coming over to check things out.

  3. I was thinking about TK, and noticed that his brothers opened doors and were glorified, but Ted was here to carry on the drudgery of the work. We are fortunate to have had him. As for the faults that *some* people have pointed out in recent days, Yeah, he was human, but *he* *didn't* *quit* the work even in times that have caused others to slink into the shadows or oblivion. We were mighty lucky to have witnessed The Lion at work.

As you your health update, thank you. I'm glad it is better. I'm looking forward to hearing what the doc says. Have a restful weekend, Nick.

  6. So glad that you are feeling so much better.

    Sad news about Ted Kennedy.

His 2 elder brothers have been remembered too at this time but I'd just like to add a mention of his eldest brother Joe killed over England in 1944.

  10. That last cartoon was particularly poignant. Condolences to his family - what terrible sadness they must be experiencing.

Thank you for the update on your health Nick.

I'm glad you're feeling better- but be sure to run those symptoms by the doctor.
