Blogblast for Peace 2009

The other night I had a deram that was filled with one song. I think that I was singing it with Pete Seeger's voice. I did nor know what the song in the dream was telling me, until I felt inspired to use it in this 2009 Blogblast ofr Peace post:

Turn, Turn, Turn

Words-adapted from The Bible, the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Music-Pete Seeger

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

  15. Carol: You are most welcome. Turn, Turn, Turn is one of those songs that is, to me, universal and timeless. I must admit that I much prefer hearing Pete Seeger singing it to The Byrds version.

Peace and justice to you and to our bleeding planet this day.

It's such a beautiful song. I found both the old version by the Byrds and a new version on YouTube. Now I'll be humming it all night. :-)

Belated Peace Day best wishes to you.
