This morning I played with Corel Paint, the program that created the pic of me in the header. (The final version with the title I created with Print Master). I have never really messed around with Paint, so I did some experimenting. The results are below.
Soooooo, give me your opinion: which do you like or dislike. Should I create a header using any of these to replace the graphic? Should I scrap the new header and start over?
OK, art critics, do your thing!
Modern Oil on Canvas
Acrylic
Impressionist Oil
Water Color on Paper
Classical Oil on Canvus
What fun are those??? Here's what you do .... what is your favorite art style? Pick that one. I'm glad you didn't go for Picasso!!
ReplyDeleteLynilu: Thanks for your response. I have the feeling that I'll be playing with Paint quite a bit in the coming days. I think my next subject will be Alex.
ReplyDeleteI like the classical oil the best and that's what I used in the header. I don't think the program has Picasso; it would be interesting if it did!
I've always loved the impressionists and that is my favorite type of "painting" of your portrait, also.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having fun with your experiments.
I like the impressionist!
ReplyDeleteThe Impressionist shows the lighter side of Nick. To bad you could not add that nice voice of yours to say Hello when we arrive.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think the others do you JUSTICE. PEACE
I like Seurat the best. I can't wait to see Alex's pictures.
ReplyDeleteAll are intriguing, Rev. Saint.
ReplyDeletei like all those
ReplyDeletei want to play with the program
I have always been a sucker for the Impressionist Oil, myself. But, let me just say, "WOW!" I am really impressed. I have tried to do graphics with Corel Paint and it always ends up looking like crap. :(
ReplyDeleteCarol: Yep, I'm having lots of fun playing with graphics.
ReplyDeleteI like the Impressionists, too, but am most intrigued by the Post Impressionists, such as van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, etc. -- van Gogh haunts my soul.
Akelamalu: Thanks for your vote. That makes two for Impressionism.
ReplyDeleteLady Di Tn: I'd not though of the Impressionist style showing a "lighter side." I think you are right; the Classical oil may be a bit too heavy.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea! If and when my computer decides to recognize that it does have audio, I just may add my voice to the welcome.
Finding Pam : I do, too. Seurat was a Post Impressionist; I think I'll play with him a bit more.
ReplyDeleteI've played with Alex's image since making this post, but thus far nothing has come out that is very good. I'll play some more!
Azsonofagun : Me, too!
ReplyDeleteJody: I hope you do play with it. I found in rather frustrating when I began, but now that I have the hang of it, I find it lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteEmerging From The Fire : Yep, me, too. Some day I think I blog again about my visits to art gallerias around the country.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm impressed, too. Up until the other day all of my playing with Corel Paint ended up like crap, too. Then, suddenly, something clicked in my brain and these are the results.
Looks like lots of fun. Maybe too complex for me though. Can't wait to see what you do with Alex.
ReplyDeleteAbby: Give it a try! The program isn't very expensive, especially if you can find an "older" version. It cost me about $15.00.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: in case you've not noticed, I just created a new header of that pic using Post Impressionist style. I really wish the program had a van Gogh style.
