As the weeks went by leading to today, my thoughts have centered on Rob and Nick. Memories of joy-filled times have frequently come to me. And I have smiled a lot.
I so wish that I had been a better father; I so wish that I were not the invalid I am today so that the joyous time could continue.
I so pray for blessings upon my two beloved sons:
May all your birthdays bring you joy;
many, many, more years to journey.
May each new day be more wonderful than the last;
discovering life's bounty;
filled with love, health, and happiness.
May your heart find its path;
through all that you do;
As God continues to bless you.
many, many, more years to journey.
May each new day be more wonderful than the last;
discovering life's bounty;
filled with love, health, and happiness.
May your heart find its path;
through all that you do;
As God continues to bless you.
That's a beautiful post, Nick! Happy Birthday to your boys. :-)

ReplyDeleteOh, Nick. That touched my heart. I am sure that you were the perfect father for whatever path your sons were brought here to tread. I feel happy thinking about the love you have for your sons.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and much peace to your sons on the anniversary of their births.
Happy Birthday, Nick and Rob!
ReplyDeleteAnd Papa Nick, remember that all of us who have been parents wish we had done it "better." Remember, also, that you did the best you knew, and that that they are both remarkable men who make you proud. That says a lot. :)
Happy "BURPDAYS" to ya little boys if only little in yawls mind. May I borrow your prayer? Peace
ReplyDeleteLynilu said exactly what I was going to say. Nick, cherish the memories. Some fathers never have a good relationship with their sons, but you do and that is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sons.
Lynilu is right, I think. We ALL wish we were better parents...but we do the best we can.
ReplyDeleteI hope they both have a Happy Birthday.
I'm sure no one could have been a better father, Nick. Happy Birthday to your sons!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to them!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to both boys. What excellent timing your parents had!
