Alex and OUR Christmas Tree

There is now a Christmas tree in our living room.  Sunday, before it was decorated, Alex decided to move his nest from the one I created for him on my our desk to beneath the tree.

He also decided to investigate the tree by climbing up and into it, therefore getting his furball self caught in the artificial branches. I have no photos of Alex in the tree; I was too busy helping him out of the tree to think of photographs.

Below are photos that I have taken of my beloved feline in his new nest nest beneath the tree:

Simon's Cat is, as always, as much a feline as Alex! Please take a moment to enjoy the short video below:

  2. Oh Alex, don't you know you aren't suppose to climb up Christmas trees?

  3. Alex and I also love Simon's Cat, Kat. Matter of fact, sometimes we wonder if he isn't patterned after Alex. Or, maybe he is simple "every cat."

  4. No, Silver Neurotic, Alex has yet to learn to stay out of trees, even though he seems to be constantly getting himself stuck in the, I had thought that, since he is now an "indoor cat," that was something of the past. I suppose it isn't/ (SIGH)

  5. Cats are such interesting creatures! I love their alternating dominance and dependence on us. Alex looks absolutely perfect under the tree! The tree becomes him!

  6. I'm glad that Alex is climbing a small Christmas tree in your home instead of a large deciduous tree in your front yard!

  7. Love Simon's Cat. Sorry you and Alex had a similar experience as Simon but hopefully with fewer broken ornaments!

  8. Alright Nick!

So Xmas is upon us. Do you really like it, or just endure it? You get Bishoply folk on TV banging on about the real meaning of Xmas. But I thought that had to do with pre-Christian religion..? And they never want to go into that stuff...

Your cat has real Luxury Fur!

I'm off the nasty heroin. I went barking mad in the meantime. The details are all there, every day for the past 2 weeks chez moi if you want to leaf through.

Sorry I've not been by very much. There's been great confusion my end, as ever

    ;->...

    All the best

  9. Lyn: Yep, the tree decorates Alex and Alex is decorative beneath—but not in—the tree.

  10. Akelamalu: I think Alex really likes his nest. He hasn’t visited any of his older nests since the tree went up.

  11. Carol: Yep! Now that he’s an “indoor cat,” Alex will have no (I hope) opportunity to get stuck in a big tree.

  12. Mauigirl: Thankfully there were no ornaments on the tree when the furball climbed into it. Since the ornaments are now on the tree, he has (surprisingly) not batted any down.

  13. Gledwood, my dear friend!: It’s great to see you! You’re off that damnable heroin! Hurray! I’ll be by to read of your experiences soon.

Actually, I love Christmas. However, I hate the commercial shit and presents and all of that.

  14. Your cat, at least, has the proper Christmas spirit. Stay warm and peace be with you.

  15. Liberality: Yes, Alex does seem to have the Christmas spirit. He has even told Saint Nick what he wants for Christmas: kitty cat treats—lots of them.

  16. This is so funny! I noticed Jessica was eyeing up my tree in the lounge the other day. I soon shooed her away!

  18. Crystal Jigsaw: Based on my experience with Alex, Jessica isn’t finished with that tree. I heard Alex crying behind me a few minutes ago, turned and looked at the silly cat stretched up into our Christmas tree with his claw caught in a branch. Silly cat.

  19. Cloudia: Thank you. Since I now have an inch and a half of ice on the ground and streets outside my window, I really wish that Alex and I were visiting Hawaii.
