Checking the List

I was going down my list of Good Blogs and fantasizing that I was old Saint Nick making a list and checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice. I suddenly decided that the “naughty” blogs far out number the “nice” blogs. I believe that is how it should be!

Merry Christmas,
all you naughty bloggers!

Addendum

While I was out last night, the ex-guests evidently returned and removed their “stuff” from my porch. They also entered my house—did I not secure the door?—and removed their TV set that I had not set on the porch.

They also left me a present: the garbage pictured below. Yes, those are dirty diapers among the other trash.

I have no doubt which on list to place Stephanie and Brian.

  1. Damn! They left a mess, didn’t they?

  3. Audrey: I truly enjoy the naughty blogs. You, too, have a most Merry Christmas.

Pokermom: Yes, they left a mess. Of course, I keep telling myself that it could have been worse.

    Thomas: Thanks for the advice!

Tiffany and I did put on a new door handle and lock. I know that they haven’t a key to that, because it only came with two and I have had control of both since I bought it. However, it doesn’t lock well: I think we need to adjust how the bolt fits into the door frame because it doesn’t always catch.

Another possibility is that they entered via the window of the spare bedroom. When I checked it this morning, I found that it wasn’t fully latched.

Punkmom: Thank you—and a Merry Christmas to you, too!

  5. I have not ready many blogs. It seems I really do need to read some. I like naughty!

I just read some of what took place with Stephanie and Brian. Knowing you, you did the best you could to help them, I am sure. It is a shame they are the way they are; however, I am certain they are creating a karma that will return to them in the future—for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according to its causation.

  7. It appears that their get backs are even worse than our mutual friend’s! She may use you and get pissed when you don’t give her what she wants, but she really does love you in her way. These two seem to be just selfish and mean. Watch out for them.

  9. I'm with azsonofagun. They have built some pretty lousy karma. You, on the other hand, have built good karma, which pays off somehow, someday. Right now it seems like that old adage, "No good deed goes unpunished." You did your best, Nick.

  10. Merry Christmas!
Did Santa bring you new locks and an alarm system?

  11. Azsonofagun: Knowing you, Rex, I am sure naughty is more to your liking than nice! I find most “nice” to be much too monotonous!

I sometimes wonder about karma. How much good or bad does one have to build up before it starts coming back to one? The law of Karma teaches that responsibility for maladroit actions is shouldered by the person who commits them. What is that person has no awareness of how his/her actions touch others? These are too many questions for me to reflect upon at the moment!

Mike: Yes, I shall watch out for them. As for our mutual friend, she has again gotten herself into problems up to her eyeballs in regard to her new dude. I am not tempted to bail her out of this one: her new dude carries a pistol and is infatuated with her enough that he may use it.

Jody: Yes, their actions were malicious. Merry Christmas to you, too!

Milkmaid: Thank you—and a very Merry Christmas to you, too!

Squirl: I fear that the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" may be too valid. I am still awaiting the good karma I think I have formed. In the meantime, I shall go on, day by day, being who I am.

As for Brian and Stephanie, I am sure that they will continue doing their scams and thefts. I feel apprehension for the friend of Stephanie who took them in; I am sure that they shall do unto him just as they did unto me.

Brighton: Thank you. Actually, Santa installed new locks before my guests departed. I kept both of the keys safely away from them.
