Not Alone

There are times when one does not relish not being alone. For me, that there are thousands of other folks also facing foreclosure is one of those:

One in every 57 residential mortgages across Kentucky -- nearly 2 percent -- was in foreclosure last summer, according to the national Mortgage Bankers Association.

In Louisville, there's been a flurry of foreclosure sales -- Jefferson Circuit Court ordered a record-tying 2,620 sales last year and is on a pace to set an all-time high this year. (Louisville Courier-Journal)

I do not understand what is happening in the United States these days. I have read that the extreme wealthy are becoming richer while the rest of us are quickly becoming poorer. I do not understand, but I do wish and pray that there were fewer folks in the same situation in which I find myself.

I have still not located Alex. I hope to go to my house to look for him again this evening.

  1. Perhaps a neighbor took Alex in for you.

  4. Due to the rise in interest rates the banks are reposessing up to 400 homes per week here. So bad.

  5. jd's rose got it right. They suck people in and then drop the hammer.

I think it was Woody Guthrie who said some rob you with a gun, some with a fountain pen.

    Hope you find your Alex.

  7. I hope Alex will be found really soon, Nick. I used to have a cat .. long story, as I'm actually allergic to cats.. but that will save till another day... we had our own little hurricane over in the UK in the late 80's, and as it hit while I was at work, I couldn't get home for almost a week.. my little girl hadn't been seen by the neighbours all that time, and I was worried.. she turned up after I'd been home for a day or two.. just waltzed in like she'd only been gone for 5 minutes.. little sod! Bet Alex will do the same...

    ((hugs for you))

  13. I haven't been by in a while so when I heard that Alex was missing I was extremely upset. Thank God he's been found safe and well, and that someone has seen to it that he remains so.

I'm hoping you get back into your place as soon as possible, and your (and Alex's) life will return to normal.

  14. I'm tired of living in a corporate oligarchy. I'm tired of living in a country that cares more about profits than people. I'm ready for a revolution; not another pointless election, revolution!

Changing gears rapidly, I'm glad Alex is safe! Sometimes when cats are left alone they get a little more skittish. I used to notice it with my Alice when I had to leave her alone for a few days.

  16. Nick,

Keep a positive thought on all counts. Something good will come of all of this. God grant you the patience to wait and find out what it is! :D
