Finally! Light at the End of the Tunnel!

Hallelujah! Finally, I am seeing a light at the end of the long, dark tunnel I have been walking since February.

Last night I received my initial pension check and annuity withdrawal! Today I was able to open a new account at my bank. (My previous account was canceled because it was overdrawn for more than 45 days).

The problem is that there is a 15-(working) day hold on 75% of the funds and a 5-day hold on the remaining 25%. That's because the amount of the checks and that they were issued by a New York City (foreign) bank.

On May 5th 25% of the deposit will be available for withdrawal. I'll have the funds to pay off the majority of my debts, have the utilities turned back on, and the following week (God willing and the crick don't rise and the utility companies turn the water, gas, and electricity back on) Alex and I can again be together. It appears there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Unless, of course, that light at the end of the tunnel is the headlight of an on-coming fright train!

That's a joke, Son! A joke!

  13. Other than the fact that the second photograph looks like a picture taken from inside the well in the film "The Ring," this post makes me so happy.

I really do hope that it all works out. I am sending you all my happy positive vibes.

Alex must be ecstatic about the news too.

  16. I know about those out of state checks. You should have heard me scream at Wells Fargo about the hold on a check drawn on Chase Manhattan and written by Prudential.

Did they think those two companies were going belly up overnight? Nope, they wanted to run the float.

At least you'll soon be back on your feet.
