This afternoon a non-computer literate friend—can you remember the days before email?—telephoned me and asked if I am aware of the local contest for amateur photographs of pets. I wasn’t. So she told me what she knew of it and is sending me (via snail) the handout describing the contest that she picked up at a local mall.
The way I reckon this contest is there can be few animals I(if any) as cute as Alex. And, since I have a bunch of photographs of him—not as many as I would have had had Alex not destroyed my last computer by knocking that glass of Dr. Pepper on it (OK, I recognize that had I not be so stupid as to put the glass by the computer it wouldn’t have happened)—perhaps I should enter an Alex pic into the contest.
So, I put aside the blog post I was working on for this afternoon and went through all of my Alex pics and came up with those posted below. Now is where I need your help. Which one is the best? Which one should I submit? I understand from my friend that the deadline for submissions is next Tuesday, so I need to act with vigor (as JFK would say).

My choice would be between A and E, I think they show more personality. A in particular looks like he is about to explain something to you. ec

Hi Nick - great cat photos there! I like them all but I am partial to B: that is one chilled out cat! Asleep in dangerous territory - the printer could spit something out any minute yet it cleary does not bother him. Also, there is a nefarious spray can of some sort right next to him - another common enemy of cats everywhere! Plus, just the general feline self-importance of 'Oh, this expensive printer must be here for me, clearly I will sleep here and if my hair gets in the rollers that is just your problem. Nighty night.'

I see I am to late but if you would like a strangers opinion ... I guess it depends on the people that will be looking at it. F is by far the most beautiful picture of Alex. There is something about E however that is just perfect too. I guess I have never seen a picture of a cat doing that although I have certainly seen a cat cleaning before. And then finally B really appeals to me. Probably the inner computer geek in me. So FEB, February, in my opinion.
