All the News that’s Fit to Print—And Some That Isn’t

Pirates Ahead!

I added this pirate name this morning after finding that most of the blogs I was reading had a pirate theme! The link came from
Iron Mary Rackam's (Little Bits) swashbuckling blog post.

My pirate name is:

Captain William Cash

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You're musical, and you've got a certain style if not flair. You'll do just fine. Arr!

CPAP Mask

The CPAP mask arrived today! I’m looking forward to trying it out this evening.

A Trip into the City

"Downtown" Louisville (at least one block of one street of it).

4th Street Live is half a block from my attorney's office. Perhaps I should (oops) have stayed there and played tonight.

Yes, I know: I live in the city! But today I drove the three or so miles northwest to the business district. I went to see my attorney, who, had I any sense, I should have consulted months ago (had I any money then). I told him that and he replied, “Forget the ‘shoulds’ or what you didn’t do. That’s over. Congratulate yourself for what you are doing now.”

I really don’t know who taught my attorney to be a therapist, but his words are exactly what I would have said to a client of mine who said what I said to my attorney.

Damned Cat!

With the cooler weather, Alex has been leaping into bed with me whenever I climb into it. (And that, because of my breathing condition and the pain in my leg, is about every four hours or so). Besides that, he’s gotten damned controlling when we’re not sleeping (At the moment Alex is outside so I can write in peace):

Do not even think about closing the door until after I decide whether or not I want to go outside!

Yes, I know I just stuck my claws into your ass to get your attention. I shall show you want I want after I finish grooming myself.

You are not to eat your breakfast until after you have given me my breakfast.

Take off your shoe, roll me over, and tickle my belly with your toe.

  1. Wonderful that the mask arrived. Hope it worked well.

4th Street Live is after my time in Louisville, but I remember shopping on 4th Street with my grandmother. Those are good memories.

  3. Hi Nick ~~ I hope the mask worked well for you. Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed the Social worker and little Jackie story. We can only pray for all those in need and keep them in our hearts.
I can walk inside and on level ground, but do prefer to have my stick with me. I have one by the front door and one by the back and
take hold of one when I go outside. Just forgot !! Take care Nick,
    Kind regards, Merle.

  4. I voted already!!!

Alex sounds alot like my cat, Buddy. Like when he picks days when my allergies are at their worst to snuggle up to my face. Or, as soon as I walk into the kitchen, he's right there, under my feet. I can't count the times I've nearly tripped over him.

    Gotta love him, though!

  5. Alex is a wonderful cat.

I'm Mad Anne Cash and I'm pirating the meme.

Today is Pirate's Day or so I've heard.

  6. My husband uses the CPAP machine. It made a world of difference -- no more falling asleep in church (embarassing!)

    Best wishes.

  7. Ok my little pirate, that cat's tail looks as though someone pasted it on. LOL! But yeah, you should definitely give a cat a chance.

Question: Does your attorney write scripts??? ;)

  12. My pirate name is Iron Tom Bonney:

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

  13. Excellent news on the mask!

And as far as Alex goes... if you're gonna let him be boss, you'll have to expect him to act that way.

  14. Yep, looks like Alex has you very well trained, Nick...heheh!

Glad your new CPAP mask has arrived...hopefully you'll get a better night's sleep now. That sleep disordered breathing is no joke!
