Pink got tagged to do a MEME. Pink advised me to sit on ice to keep cool just before she tagged me to do the same MEME. Therefore, with a cool ass, I can get my overheated brain in gear and offer you these simple eccentricities for your erudition and amusement:
Six Unspectacular Quirks of Sometimes Saintly Nick
- My favorite color is green: at the moment I am sitting in room (my library) painted green, wearing green shorts (no shirt: it’s too damned hot for a shirt), with a green candle (which is not lighted because it is too damned hot in here) beside me on my desk.
- I seldom allow others to know how intelligent I am or how much I really comprehend about something; as Sun Tzu suggested in The Art of War, I always keep some wisdom in reserve, just in case.
- I am an extremely easy mark, willing to give my last dollar to someone who claims to be in need, even when my gut tells me that I am being conned.
- I always sleep in the nude, no matter how cold the temperature is.
- I enjoy driving around and getting myself lost: I have discovered some really neat places and people while lost and I relish the challenge of getting myself un-lost.
- I have more books than will ever fit on my bookshelves—and I have read all of them.
I never would have guessed! :)
ReplyDeleteKeep cool, Nick!
So nice to learn more about you Nick. Have a great Sunday. :)
ReplyDeleteI had to embiggen your photo of your bookshelves to check out what you've got there, but I still couldn't read most of the titles. If I lived near you, I'd be borrowing The Lives of John Lennon, The Tao of Peace, and The Real Little Best Fake Book Ever.
ReplyDeleteI, too, like to get lost so I can see new sights and find my way back.
Keep your ass nice and cool!
Nick,I might be willing to do this meme as soomn as I can come up six unexpectaculr quirks.
ReplyDeleteYhat's my story and I'm sticking to it.I hope that you are haveing a Great day today.
Nick,I just wanted you to know that my meme is up,in case you want to see it.
ReplyDeleteThat's my story and I'm sticking to it.
r u & alex still hot
ReplyDeleteNote to self: do not show up at Nick's house unexpectedly after bed time. ;)
ReplyDeletePersonally, I hate getting lost. I never go anywhere without several maps and several pre-planned routes and alternate routes.
How are you and Alex doing combating the heat? If I were you in this weather I would do everything nude.
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling us those things about you.
ReplyDeleteWhy not come and get lost in my neck of the desert for a while?
ReplyDeleteAKELAMALU: My pleasure!
ReplyDeleteCAROL: If you really want to peruse some of the titles, I’ve placed some of the books in my library (maybe 10%) in the Library thingie on my sidebar.
Getting lost, except when I am on a tight schedule, is one of my favorite activities. I have a recent story about recently being lost in Louisville around where I lived when I was a wee kid that I must share some day.
MIKE: I’ll click over to see your quirks in a minute or two.
JODY: Yep, we are still hot, Alex and I were sitting on the deck until a few minutes ago. The breeze was nice, I came in to look at the blog; Alex took over my chair on the deck.
THOMAS: Hey! I don’t answer the door nude: I have three robes at strategic locations in the house.
ANGUS: Alex and I are doing what we can to keep cool. Primarily, we are napping during the day. I see that the forecast said we may have a break in the heat on Tuesday (forecast high = 81). If case you missed the TV news, today’s high was 96; my computer says that the present temp is 88. It is 86 inside the house.
ReplyDeleteLUNA: You are most welcome.
MIKE: You know, if I could work out how to deal with my oxygen I need, I would take you up on that. Rex has made a similar offer, so the two of you could share the burden of my presence.
Interesting. Keep cool, Nick.
ReplyDeleteI second Mike’s words. Come west, Rev Saint! Join is in the desert.
ReplyDeletehhhmmmm... we have a lot in common you and i...
ReplyDeleteOh, very cool! - So good to know 6 more lil things about ya! =)
ReplyDeleteI like your quirks. I enlarged the photo of your bookshelf, just to have a look at your books....some interesting titles you have there.
ReplyDeletep.s. I too have "The Sea Wolf", and I loved it. What a superb adventure story that is....
