We can find a better way.
Addendum
I had planned to vote as soon as it was light enough to drive to my polling place. However, the radio news reported that there were lines outside of several polling spots—including my own—at 5:30 a.m., half an hour before they were to open.
So I kept listening to the radio and voted at 2:00 p.m. Although there were no outside lines, there were more people inside voting than I can ever remember. I was pleasantly astounded by the large number of young (under 30) voters. I was the oldest voter in the place!
Wow
ReplyDeleteThis is so much more peaceful and warm than my approach. LOL!
ReplyDeleteJust about 2 hours before the polls open. Hopefully I will vote shortly after that.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to vote as soon as I read your yesterday jokes.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Reverend,
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent video,
Thank you for your presence in this world, for the light you shine,
With reverent love, M
I would certainly vote in your election if I could!
ReplyDeletegood luck, i hope obama wins it.
ReplyDeleteI voted. The lines were a little longer and took a little longer but not bad so far. It took me 50 minutes but that was because it was the morning rush time. So come on, go do your duty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Nick. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWe must find a better way, no matter who wins!
Love and Peace to you this Election Day.
This is so simple and so spiritual. The video is very appropriate and quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Saint Nick.
Agreed!
ReplyDeleteHeading out to vote right now! :D
ReplyDeleteThis will be the first time in many years that I'll be waiting until after 6:30 to vote. Couldn't make it first thing, which is my usual time, so I'll wait for my sweetie to get home and we'll walk over together.
ReplyDeleteI voted and now I am antsy to find out the results.
ReplyDeleteLike andi, I'm antsy to just finally KNOW who wins. I'm pretty confident that Obama will win, but I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed. I didn't have to wait though, I live in a small precinct.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was voting I saw a younger crowd too but not as young as you were saying. Then again I was in the "let's get this over with so I can get into work" crowd so it was to be expected. I also saw more minorities showing up then I remember in the past. All good signs, it means more people are voting.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you chose wisely Saint Nick....
ReplyDeleteMy wife voted in the afternoon and there weren't many people.
ReplyDeleteCan't vote but great song.
ReplyDeleteI have an ear toward the TV and the election reporting but my eyes on the computer screen and keyboard. I like what I am hearing regarding the results but I’m getting damned bored with the talking heads over analyzing everything!
ReplyDeleteCharlie: Thanks for the “Wow.”
ReplyDeleteRicardo: Thank you, but I found nothing wrong with your approach! Perhaps I just a older and more mellow dude?
Barman: I note you were able to vote. I awaited shorter lines in the afternoon.
Gunny: I hope the voting proved as entertaining as the jokes.
ReplyDeleteMaithri: Thank you, Dr. Maithri, my dear friend. I knew that I wanted to use Rhymes and Reasons as the song in this post; I’ve been singing and humming it for over a week! I found several videos of John Denver singing Rhymes and Reasons but none seemed really appropriate until I hit upon the one I used.
BTW, tomorrow’s Coffeehouse features John Denver.
Fiochra: I know you would, my dear friend, and that means a lot to me.
Maxxo: Thank you! I do, too! It’s looking good: ABC News just projected that the state of Ohio went for Obama.
ReplyDeleteBarman: Glad you did! I did, too: after the lines got shorter!
Carol: Thank you. This is becoming a very exciting and hope-filled night!
China Girl: Thank you! I, too, found the song Rhymes and Reasons and the video most appropriate!
ReplyDeleteEnemy of the Republic: Yep!
The Lone Beader: I hope that the voting line was too long.
Squirl: I hope that you and your sweetie got to vote without having to wait very long.
ReplyDeleteAndi: I hope you antsiness is being relieved! At the moment ABC reports that Obama has 200 electoral votes—70 more needed to win.
Courtney: Let you hopes soar! It sounds as if Obama has done it!
Barman: Yep! All great signs!
ReplyDeleteMutley the Dog: Thank you! I feel better about this presidential election than I have of any one in many, many years!
Dr. John: I suppose the number of people at any given poll was dependent upon the where and when!
Crazy Cath: Great to hear from you! Yep, I like the song: I’ve been singing it for days now! Blessings my dear friend!
ReplyDeleteNo you are a younger, mellow dude and I'm a cranky old man. LOL!
ReplyDeleteRicardo: [:-)
ReplyDeleteI had to return and play that video again. I have tears of joy in my eyes!
