There Is Love

The color of the Third Candle of Advent is unique. It is pink.

It is unique because it stands for LOVE—and one of the Names of God is Love.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” ~ John 13:34

We light this candle to proclaim the coming of the Light of God into the world. With the coming of this Light, there is Love.

The following song, written and sung by Noel Paul Stookey, is not an Advent or Christmas song. Perhaps it should be:

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubadour is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits, here, has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is Love. There is Love.

  2. Not the best rendition I have heard but it is a beautiful song with great sentiments.

It was very popular at weddings for a while. I wonder if it still is.

  4. I never knew that!!! How very interesting. I'm feeling better today so I thought I'd try and visit some that have paid me a visit while I've spent most of the week snoozing.

Hope your week ahead is a glorious one Nick!!

  5. I think that Advent should occur over and over, without any time in between, just so that we never forget these wonderful qualities.

    Thanks, Nick!

  6. I try to remember to have love in everything I do. It's really helping to change some of my bad habits, like, say, being judgmental.

Thanks for another wonderful Advent post.
