The Shadowbox

Bob, one of my oldest and dearest friends, has always been very observant. When he saw the above photograph, he emailed me and asked me about the shadowboxes (that I can hardly see) that are in the background. So I took the photographs below in an attempt to capture the inhabitants of the boxes. (Of course, you can click on the photos to greatly enlarge them for better viewing).

  1. It would be interesting to hear the stories behind the inhabitants of the boxes.

  2. Those are interesting, to say the least! I'm especially taken with the giraffe, leopard and zebra. And yes, it would be nice to hear the stories behind them.

  8. The little Buddha looks very happy and content in his niche.

I do not envy you the job of dusting all those things!

  11. Very cool collection of things for the boxes, Nick! Also very cool to see you! (Of course, whenever there is a photo of you when I'm finally reading your blog, I point it out to Mr. Wonderful by saying, "there's Nick!" He thinks it's cool to see you too!)

  12. I am glad that Bob is so observant. Now we need to know the story behind the objects. Will you please do a post on them? Write it soon because I miss wordzzle.

I too had trouble with the comment, though probably something I did? I could not get Frank Sinatra's song to open on NYE. I loved the other music.

Take care SSN and red is definately your color.

  13. OK, now I feel silly, when I visited you on New Years Eve and enjoyed all of the great tunes, I could not locate a comment spot, but here I am no problem, seems clear enough today.
The close up pics of your shadowboxes are really nice Nick, such a fine and varied collection of pieces! Your dragon shirt is pretty awesome too! :)

  14. Gandalf! At least, I think that's Gandalf there. Cool decorating, Nick, might have to set up a few shadowboxes myself one day if I get organized. They'd have to be cat-proofed, of course :-D

  18. I thought I saw a Gandalf!

We've been thinking about using shadow boxes in our bedroom. We have many little figures and this would be a perfect way to display them.
