Prejudice

The Florida Family Association and Lowe's motivated me to think and do some research:

  • "If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon." ~ George Aiken
  • "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices, but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence and fulfills the duty to express the results of his thought in clear form." ~ Albert Einstein
  • "A great many people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices." ~ William James
  • "It is never too late to give up our prejudices." ~ Henry David Thoreau

  1. Thank you, Rev. Nick. I hope Mr. Thoreau is correct: "It is never too late to give up our prejudices." There is much too much hatred and prejudice in our world.

  2. Indeed. To do better, we must first understand that we have prejudices. Then we can begin to understand why, to overcome them, and finally to reject them.
