Whether you call him ’le Pádraig,
Saint Patrick, or Saint Paddy (but never St. Patty), March 17th is his day.
Of
course, you know the story of the great Irish Saint? No, I do not refer to the
legend of him driving the snakes—a.k.a. the British—out of Ireland . That
happened about 1462 years after his death. I mean the story of St. Paddy’s life and the legends about him.
For the past 35 or so years I have been reading everything I can about Ireland. My library has a relatively large collection of book and my music collection has lots of CDs of Irish songs. Below are books I have in my personal library and that I sincerely recoomend for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of Ireland's history, legends, and poetry:
