The Episcopal Church made history last week when the House of Bishops elected its first woman Presiding Bishop—leader of the Episcopal Church in the United States. Last night I heard an interview with the Rt. Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori on the BBC World Service’s Reporting Religion and am more than impressed.
For a breath of religious fresh air, I suggest that you listen to the interview.

I, too, believe that Bishop Schori brings is a breath of fresh air!

ReplyDeleteJD’S ROSE: (1) Thank you; I am thinking of you, too! (2) Yep, I posted it at 2:50 a.m. I heard the news story around 11:00 p.m. and since I was still unable to sleep at 2:30 a.m., I decided to get up and do something. The “do something” was that post.
I listened to the interview. She is wonderful. I may beomce an Episcopalian.

ReplyDeleteI can't agree with you there. I don't think that is a woman's place. That is why I am Catholic. Why pick someone to the extreme left? It seems they are doing it for political reasons. Why else pick a woman that is also for homosexual leadership in the church?

She certainly is better than the prejudice and hate coming out of the mouths of some other church leaders.
