A Breath of Religious Fresh Air

The Episcopal Church made history last week when the House of Bishops elected its first woman Presiding Bishop—leader of the Episcopal Church in the United States. Last night I heard an interview with the Rt. Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori on the BBC World Service’s Reporting Religion and am more than impressed.

For a breath of religious fresh air, I suggest that you listen to the interview.

JD’S ROSE: (1) Thank you; I am thinking of you, too! (2) Yep, I posted it at 2:50 a.m. I heard the news story around 11:00 p.m. and since I was still unable to sleep at 2:30 a.m., I decided to get up and do something. The “do something” was that post.

  5. I can't agree with you there. I don't think that is a woman's place. That is why I am Catholic. Why pick someone to the extreme left? It seems they are doing it for political reasons. Why else pick a woman that is also for homosexual leadership in the church?

  6. She certainly is better than the prejudice and hate coming out of the mouths of some other church leaders.
