On June 12, 1971, my son, Nicholas Lawrence Temple III, was born in Wurzburg, Germany. He was named for me; I was named for my grandfather, who long-time readers of this blog know as “TNT,” which stands for “Terrible Nick Temple.” By chance, TNT was also born of a June 12th in the Nineteenth Century.

On June 12, 1975, my son, Robert Lawrence Temple II, was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He was named for my father, who died in 1983.

As you may guess, June 12 is a very special day for my family and me.
That is so cool, Nick. My twin daughters share a birthday (of course). My oldest child's birthday is April 27th and my youngest's is April 26. We think it's pretty neat. The little one really likes it because she feels left out not having a twin. It makes her feel very special that she can share a birthday dinner with her big brother.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sons!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's a special day for you all right. What lovely looking sons you have Nick...I like the TNT bit, too.
ReplyDeleteSave me a piece of that yummy looking birthday cake, please?
Have lovely week, Nick.
What a wonderful day for your family! Blessings to you all!
ReplyDeleteWowza...amazing! Happy b-day to them.

Wow! What's the statistical probability of that?

That is crazy (in the good way)... what are the odds?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to everyone!
How neat that they share a birthday (and with your grandfather as well).
ReplyDeleteDid they ever feel cheated? Two of mine have birthdays two days apart and we had one celebration for both.
My husband's birthday is 12-26 and it always falls through the cracks. Rebecca is Halloween - same thing.
that's wonderful! happy b'day to both the boys :)
ReplyDeleteBirthday blessings to Nick & Rob: May they each live to be 100 years, with one extra year to repent.
ReplyDeleteHi Nick ~~ I can see why June 12th is special Most unusual for both your sons to have the same birthday as well as your grandfather. I hope you got a piece of that nice looking cake and I hope both sons had a happy day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Nick. That was a special story, "Take my son" and I am glad you enjoyed it.

That's incredible ... everyone being born on the same date. Quite bizarre really. Must make for a fun day for you all.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Meow
How nice! Not only can they celebrate together, you only have to remember one day. Remembering gets harder the older we get. I know!
ReplyDeleteJune 12th is most certainly a very special day, huh?
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday to both of your sons...
June 12th is also my daughters' birthday.. she just turned 12 last week.
And this year June 12th was also just a little sad.. it was Grannanna's last "party" ..
