MEMES

Recently I was tagged by Vishwa and by Polgara to do memes. Although I ain’t the best memer in the blogasphere, I’ll give ‘em a shot:

seven random/strange things about me (from Vishwa)

My two sons were both born on June 12th, four years apart. June 12th was also my Grandfather, old TNT’s birthday.

My sons noticed it before I did: each time I have earned another academic degree I have ended up making less money.

Until Alex came into my life, I was a “dog person.”

Since I was sixteen, I have owned ten automobiles and twelve guitars (plus one banjo).

I have been a member of a Bluegrass Music association although Bluegrass isn’t my favorite music genre.

I have officiated more funerals than I have weddings and baptisms combined. Sad.

My personal library consists of too many books: about 2,000. I’m in the process of giving away/selling many of them.

LETTER TO ME (from Polgara)

The rules…
1. Link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Imagine you could send a letter back in time to yourself when you were 13yrs old. What would you write?
3. Tag 5 people to do this blog.

Dear Nicky Boy,

I know that life seems difficult for you at the moment: the fighting between your mom and dad is so distressing and your home is chaotic. But it isn’t your fault! And, you can’t make things serene and peaceful no matter how hard you try. Let the adults deal with their own issues.

I realize that you can’t understand this now, but you will later: a rescuer trying to make peace between a persecutor and a victim always ends up as a victim. It’s much better to stay out of their way than get caught in between them.

Blessings my child!

Old Man Nick

In doing Memes, I have never tagged anyone. However, if you desire to do either of these, please let me know. I’ll be interested in reading what you write.

As an added treat:

My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is:
The Most Honourable Nicholas the Educated of Kesslington under Ox
Get your Peculiar Aristocratic Title

You are Yoda

A venerated sage with vast power and knowledge, you gently guide forces around you while serving as a champion of the light.

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

Judge me by my size, do you? And well you should not - for my ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us, and binds us. Luminescent beings are we, not this crude matter! You must feel the Force around you, everywhere.

  20. For the record, there is no such thing as too many books. It wouldn't help you decrease your collection, but have you heard of Paperback swap dot com? You list the books you no longer want, and when someone requests that book you mail it out, and then you get a credit to order a book from someone else. The only problem is that you still have to keep your listed books around. Anyway, Dan and I get a kick out of it, so I thought I'd mention it.
